Quiet Mind, Colorful Soul: The Weekly Series
A Collaboration by Hollie Brubaker & Poppy Anna Cash
Written by Poppy Anna Cash on April 20, 2026
“Color is a power which directly influences the soul.” We often think of painting as an act of creation, but for many of us, it is actually an act of release. When we pick up a brush, we aren’t just trying to make something beautiful for the world to see; we are trying to quiet the noise inside so we can finally hear our own hearts.
The Birth of a Sanctuary
Hello Tiny Painters wasn't born in a boardroom or a marketing meeting; it was born in the quiet, frustrating hours of the night when sleep felt like a distant shore. Hollie, like so many of us, struggled with insomnia. That "busy mind" that refuses to clock out when the lights go down. She began to paint as a way to anchor herself, using the stroke of the brush to wind down her day.
Hollie is someone who thrives in community, and she quickly realized that she wasn't alone in her search for stillness. Inspired by the resurgence of Bob Ross and the universal craving for a calm demeanor in a chaotic world, she began filming her process. What started as a personal ritual evolved into a late-night interactive livestream... a digital campfire where a regular group of "tiny painters" gathers every weeknight.
Every night is an intentional ceremony. Hollie lights the candles and the incense, settles her crystals, and provides words of wisdom while her viewers offer suggestions for the night's masterpiece. But as the community grew, so did the request for something they could take with them into the weekends - a way to find that same peace whenever the world got a little too loud.
A Partnership Thirty-Five Years in the Making
When Hollie approached me with the idea of a guided meditation series, it felt like the universe coming full circle. We have been best friends for over 35 years. Our lives have been intertwined through every season, and we have always shared a deep belief in the power of holding space for others.
In my work as a life coach, Reiki practitioner, and doula, I have spent years helping women find clarity, grounding, and inner strength. I have seen firsthand how guided meditation can be a lighthouse for someone lost in the fog of stress or transition. Having done voiceovers for commercials and even appearing in some of Hollie's films, stepping into the recording booth to give voice to her visual peace was an honor I didn't take lightly. We believe so deeply that these meditations can be a bridge for people to rediscover their own wisdom.
The Practice of "Arriving"
We understand that for many, the word "meditation" feels intimidating. Some find it impossible to visualize; others find it physically difficult to sit still or keep their eyes closed.
If that is you, please hear this: Meditation is a practice, and it looks different for everyone. There is no "perfect" way to find peace. Whether you are tucked under your covers or resting in a favorite chair, the goal is simply to arrive. We wanted to create something accessible and empowering; a space where you don't have to "do" anything except exist.
Journey to the Silver Moon Boat
Our first meditation in this five-part series focuses on the most fundamental need: sleep. We chose the imagery of the Silver Moon Boat because it represents the ultimate surrender... the act of drifting.
Imagine for a moment that your busy mind is a landscape of mountains and valleys, and we are going to smooth it all out with a warm, golden light. We start at the top of the head, letting that warmth melt the tension in your forehead and jaw, moving down until your hands are open and soft.
From there, we leave the shore behind. In your mind's eye, you walk down a cool, silver-grey wooden dock to a boat crafted from honey-colored oak. This boat is a safe place, an old friend. It is filled with thick, white faux-fur blankets and oversized pillows that feel like a cloud given form.
As you lay back in that nest of fur, you aren't just watching the night; you are part of it. You watch the moon rise — a slow, majestic ascent of pearl light that paints the world in shades of silver and shadow. And then, the rope unties itself.
The Deep Drift
The most healing part of the Silver Moon Boat is the movement. The boat begins a gentle, rhythmic rocking, the heartbeat of the lake. You hear the water: Lap... lap... lap.... With every sound, a layer of the day dissolves.
A soft, lavender-tinted fog rolls in, acting like a weighted blanket of atmosphere. It tucks you into a cocoon where there is no world left outside of the wood, the fur, the moon, and your own breath.
A Shared Invitation
Hollie and I created this because we know what it’s like to crave a moment of "nothing left to do." We want to thank you for choosing yourself and honoring your body’s need for stillness.
You are a landscape of stillness. Whether you use this meditation to fall into a deep sleep or simply to find thirty minutes of quiet in a loud afternoon, know that you are always welcome in this space.
Take a deep breath in... and let it out with a sigh.
Sleep now, tiny painter.
